Some locals along Ding Darling

I did my weekly visit to Ding Darling and had the pleasure to spend some time with the locals - a colorful bunch they are.
This was in my back yard as I headed out the door - for the past couple of days there has been 4 Red-bellied Woodpeckers chasing each other around loudly - not quite sure the meaning of this behavior.

The year around resident of Ding - A Yellow-crowned Night Heron.

By the Tower - a nice group of Roseate Spoonbills and a Reddish Egret doing its dance.

An Immature Little Blue Heron.

The Great Egret - quite royal don't you think?

Here's another Yellow-crowned Night Heron - busy searching for crabs.

Gotcha! Yum.

Here's the younger version - quite striking....this one was hanging around the Caloosa Trail boardwalk area.
